The purpose of the Budapest Christian Library is to establish a resource center that addresses issues of applied Christian living and provides materials for increased biblical understanding. It is open to everyone.
The library will contain resources designed to encourage and enable readers to investigate the validity of the Christian faith, to develop and grow in their spiritual journey, to interact with their children utilizing family oriented materials, and to enjoy recreational reading.
The library currently has 7,850 resources. When fully developed, it is expected to have 8,000 English and Hungarian books, magazines, audio tapes, video tapes, CDs, and DVDs. Just now resources are primarily in the English and Hungarian languages.
Emphasis will be given to the following areas:
- Biblical studies and reference
- Biography
- Christian fiction
- Church history
- Evidences for belief
- Family and relationships
- Family financial planning
- Inspirational reading
- Leadership development
- Practical ministry skills
- Recreational reading
- Social issues and ethics
