To keep up with our day to day activities and events go to the contact us section and visit Carol's blog. Meanwhile here are a few thoughts from Carol.
Merrill and I had a very wonderful trip to the U.S. to visit family and friends. Our church friends gave us many books for the library and even paid to have those books shipped to our son in New York, so we wouldn't have to take them to Texas from Iowa. As a result, there are many new books waiting to be cataloged for the patrons to use. In addition, to the books brought back from the U.S., we have received several sizeable donations of books which include fiction, nonfiction, and children's books. We appreciate the generosity of the patrons and our friends at home as well. You can be looking forward to new titles by Randy Alcorn, Beverly Lewis, Karen Kingsbury, Lori Wick to name just a few. There are also a couple of new books by John Maxwell and Steve Farrar. If it has been a while since you have visited the library, I invite you to pay us a visit and see what is new.
With summer coming, you may be wondering, "How will I keep the kids busy this summer?" One of my friends from Iowa has written a book, titled, Super Summer Challange. She donated one copy for the library but she anticipated that some of you might like to have your own copy and she sent 10 copies with me. They will be available for 2,000 ft. each, so be sure to ask about the book when you come in.
This part of the website will not be a formal newsletter but will be a place for periodic information and news about the library. As we add new books we will let you know about them here. As we have occasion to read books we will let you know what important things they have to say to us and hopefully to you as well. We will also try to keep abreast of new books being published but we know that you are often aware of or have read books that are not in the library. If you believe others would benefit from being able to read them , let us know and we will try to add them to the library collection. We want to maintain and even build upon the high level of excellence that Andy and Phyllis established. So consider the library as yours and help us make it a place where souls are fed and spirits are refreshed.
